Valentine's Day in the City (at home)

Our City Together

Ah, Valentine's Day. For some it can be a huge source of anxiety; what do I buy, where should I take them to eat, do they even like roses? (side note: roses are great but did you know there's a special City of London rose which can be planted to flower each year?) Anyway we're getting distracted. To help you out here is a list of great things to drink, eat, gift and listen to this Sunday all from City businesses and organisations. If you also want to order all of these treats and goodies for yourself and enjoy a wonderful night in, we support you.

LSO Valentine's Playlist

Before we get into the gift (and drink) particulars, one must set the mood! Is there anything more romantic than a specially curated playlist of classical music to accompany a night in? London Symphony Orchestra Live have curated a Love #AlwaysPlaying playlist so you can enjoy some of classical music's most romantic moments at home. Listen on Apple or Spotify.

Flowers from the City

You can't go wrong with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. We have a selection of florists in the City of London for you to choose from, because we couldn't pick just one. Windsor Flowers have some amazing rose bouquets from Leadenhall Market, Appleyard Flowers have not only roses but Valentine's Day hampers full of goodies and Floom deliver from a selection of florists in the City of London giving you lots of choice.

Vinoteca Valentines Box

Not all of us are blessed with the culinary skills of Gordon Ramsay to impress our love this Sunday, and that's okay. How does a curated menu with specialist wine pairings sound? Yeah, we think so too. Vinoteca are doing all of the hard work for you, you just have to make sure you order by 2pm on Thursday 11 February for delivery on Friday and 2pm on Friday 12 for delivery on Saturday. When you're able to visit the City again, you can find Vinoteca in Bloomberg Arcade, and thank them for making you look like the best partner ever.

Barbican on Demand and Membership Gift

You've done the flowers, set the mood with classical music and dined like royalty. If you still want to give a personal and artsy gift, go for a membership card from the Barbican. Giving you access to a year of free gallery entry, priority booking, discounts, exclusive events and more, this gift will certainly give you both something to look forward too. Whilst you're browsing the membership benefits, take a look at the cinema on demand and surprise your date with a film selection that isn't from Netflix! We'd be impressed...
