10.30-11.20 - Storytelling
The day will start with Drag Queen Story Time, with storytelling and song by the stunning Topsie Redfern. Topsie will take you on a journey of being your true self, and will open your eyes to the importance of performance, character and costume.
10-minute break
11.30-12.30 - Create a costumed character
Find out about the multifaceted Noël Coward - playwright, composer, director, actor, singer, and spy! Then join the wonderfully creative Arkem Walton on a journey through character and costume design and make your very own puppet. Perhaps you can fashion your own costume too.
1hr Lunch Break
13.30-14.30 - Make a scene
Set the scene in your space turning your home into a theatre with scene-setter extraordinaire Shelton Lindsay (who will be joining you all the way from New York!). Your potted plants will become a forest or your soft toys animals on the savannah.
10-minute break
14.40-16.00 - Put words in their mouths and put on a show
Noël Coward was known for his quips, wit and humour. In this workshop, you'll be tasked with creating your own witty interaction to make your audience chuckle and bring your characters to life. You'll have time to practice and take to the stage should you want to.
Take a bow and say goodbye!
