Call for content

This year, the City of London Corporation's Outdoor Arts Programme presents A Thing of Beauty, commemorating the bicentenary of the death of the poet John Keats and celebrating beauty, which was a recurring motif in his work. The season will focus on beauty, love and truth, exploring these concepts through the lens of art, nature and relationships and addressing themes of diversity, the environment and sustainability.

Through a programme of new commissions, outdoor performances and events, on street exhibitions, walks and tours, music, installations and digital work, A Thing of Beauty will explore the urgent issue of the climate crisis and celebrate diversity in all its forms. This season of commissioned artistic work will take a solutions-focused approach to telling the climate emergency narrative through creative exploration and interventions. 

The programme will embed diversity in all its forms, reflecting the extraordinary range of people that make up our world. It will invite audiences to reflect on our planet, in terms of both its environment and culture, look ahead to a positive future, have belief in the power of people to respond to significant global challenges and be inspired to help make change. 

The campaign is marketed and promoted by the City Corporation and inclusion is FREE for all City-based organisations delivering relevant content in support of the following programme themes:
